2004-08-28 - Natural remedies for wasp stings
| | |
I just got stung on the finger by a ratbastard wasp. Makes typing difficult. I rushed inside to find no wasp sting lotions, and was advised to hold a slice of lemon to it - wasp stings are alkaline, so the citric acid neutralizes the sting. Takes a few minutes to work, but surprisingly effective. You can also use vinegar. Apparently onion does the converse trick for bee stings. Then I applied a drop of lavender oil to the sting, so my keyboard is oily and lavender-scented.
